Bei ihm rieselt schon der Kalk.

picture from the pioneer evening activity

Hallo hallo hallo meine gemütvolle Familie und Freunde!

Well as it seems to come with areas that have cars, it is not surprising that this week was a week filled with much travel. At some points it is relaxing but at other points it is just a nuisance and kind of stressful if you happen to be driving in the midst of a huge city. That is basically how the week started and didn't really stop until much later in the week.

Last Monday I didn't really get the relaxing P-day that I wanted because instead we missionaries as per usual were used as a moving service. Haha except this time we were used to move junk from one spot to another spot across the city. When in my opinion it should have made its way to the dumpster. But here in Germany there are no such dumpsters. Honestly the regular size dumpsters you put out in front of your house is almost as big as the dumpsters that are used by an entire apartment building. Anyways at least it turned out for the better because at the end we took some of her extra or just unused furniture to some of our investigators who don't really have any kind of furniture in their apartment that they share with other people. And in case you are wondering, I mean I am sure you all are more well informed than I am but yes the foreigner emigration problem is indeed becoming more and more noticeable as the days go by. In fact the other day I found out that there is a big gated military base a few minutes outside of Neubrandenburg that is filled with refugees from all over the place and are basically being watched over there until they find a place to send them to live.

Tuesday we went to Prenzlau instead of on Wednesday because we had Zone-Training-Meeting in Berlin on that day instead of District Meeting. Nothing too exciting went on in Prenzlau other than our lesson with Herr Fertig (Mr. Fertig) or literally Mr. Finish. And sometimes I feel like I am fertig with Herr Fertig! Yeah translate that one! Haha anyways we bring one of the members with us usually to go visit him. And they always chat it up to begin with and with join in as well. It is definitely good to have a friendly relationship with whoever you are teaching. But as soon as we start teaching about the gospel he just gets so quite and won't answer any of our questions. However on a random note I think I will get a random video of Bruder Hanneman talking. Just so you can trip out and ask yourself...is that really German that I am hearing?
Wednesday! We were in Berlin for some crazy reason so that we could have Zone-Training-Meeting. This time it was better organized and we also had a couple other people who were not from Zone that were there so it bolstered our numbers a little bit. And we also had interviews with the President again. Apparently we are going to have interviews with the president every month now. Either over Skype or in person. So all of that was good. However because we had a long service project on Monday we were able to spend some of our P-Day time in Berlin after the Zone-Meeting. Which we then used to get lost inside the city but then eventually made our way to see the Brandenburg Gate and a big Jewish monument for everything that happened during World War II.

Thursday I went on exchange with the Greifswald Elders so I could go and do the baptismal interview for someone that was supposed to be baptized last Saturday. But when we got to where he lived we found out that he was picked up by the police and deported out of the country. Long story short it was a pretty disappointing exchange. Haha but at least we visited a bit with one of the members up in that area who was having his 93 birthday. He can't see very well anymore, that is understandable. But he can still get up and walk around and is still pretty functional so that was pretty impressing.

The rest of the week wasn't too exciting other than when we met with a bunch of our investigators on Saturday and one of them fed us some pretty good food that comes from Ghana and this time it was not Fufu. Thank goodness! On Sunday we had a bunch of people at church and we were busy translating for them the whole time. And I even got up and had to translate a member's testimony into German. That made my brain want to explode for a second there.

Well that is a few details of the week I just had. I hope your week was filled with excitement or with joy and relaxation at some point. Especially relaxation that is almost a foreign word to me now. Haha but it was a good week and this week should be good too. I love you and pray for you all.

Tschüss,
Elder Foster
