Elder Foster with Bruder Schade from the Neubrandenburg Branch.
This week was essentially a reflection of the last two
before it. It was a lot more intense but with the same end results. Everybody
that we teach is disappearing haha. Unfortunately we haven't been able to stay
in contact with Zaid. I don't remember if I have said too much about him. He is
the one I asked you to pray for a while back. He is 26 and from Chechnya which
probably already gives ideas of the kind of life he has had but he has been in
Germany for the past couple of years now. I would tell you more about his life
but that would probably be too much personal information. He truly is a good
person though despite his rather tragic past. Hopefully we will see him on the
street or that he will pick up his phone someday. He is super good at
volleyball and we miss seeing him at English class and our activity
night.
Because I am the district leader, I once again had the
opportunity to go on exchange. This time I got to go to Greifswald and even a
little visit in Stralsund. It went pretty well except for maybe the fact that
the other missionary going back to Neubrandenburg forget to give me the key to
his bike lock so unfortunately both the bikes were locked up and we just had to
walk to get everywhere. Which took up a lot of time and didn't give us time to
do anything else other than what was planned. Probably the best part about the
exchange was the fact that I was with Elder Geren who is actually from my MTC
group. So it was pretty cool to sit down together and kind of compare our
missionary experiences up to this point with one another.
We also sent a missionary home this morning. She was one of
the sister missionaries in my area. And it truly is always weird to be around
people that are going home. They honestly kind of lose their minds the last
couple of weeks of their mission. Not to mention that the other 3 missionaries
in this area have been together for 4 transfers together. Also adding to the
fact that the Elder and the Sisters spend far far too much time with each other
in this area because we share a car and have two areas. So it is definitely a
good change that we are getting some new missionaries here.
Another chapter closes and a new one begins. Only six more
transfers left so I better make them good. No looking back! I hope that my new
companion is just as excited as I am to rekindle the fire in this area. There
is always at least one person in an area that is ready and willing to follow
the Lord and to enter a covenant with the Lord through baptism. We just have to
find them or give all our hearts in the process so that the Lord can trust us
somewhere else later down the road. I hope you all have a great week and I will
keep you all in my prayers.
Tschüss,
Elder Foster
